Great Australian Bight

Posted by Kathryn (Warburton, Australia) on 26 January 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This image was taken along the Nullabor (a long stretch of road crossing east/west across the desert on the southern coast of Australia) in an area where the road travels quite close to these massive cliffs. The Nullarbor Plain is virtually an uplifted sea floor with the limstone rocks dating back to the Miocene age (about 25 million years ago).

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!! what better way to spend this national holiday than to lounge about in the sun, have a BBQ and listen to the annual countdown of the Hottest 100 songs of 2008 being played on the radio. Have a great day everybody!

Thank you all so much for your lovely encouraging comments. I am getting quite busy and am finding that i don't have a lot of time for both photography and maintaining this blog as much as i would like to so i probably won't be able to reply to each and every comment from now on but i promise i will eventually get around to visiting your blog! Happy snapping everybody!
