the saucepan

Posted by Kathryn (Warburton, Australia) on 14 February 2009 in Miscellaneous.

playing with one of my cousin's (i.e. Ranii) sigma lenses off her old film camera which conveniently works with my Pentax DSLR i snapped this shot of part of the star constellation of Orion - what we call "the saucepan" in this part of the world!

BUSHFIRE UPDATE: all is still ok here at the moment with little wind and cool temps keeping the fires more quiet and in the bush - thank goodness! there is just a LOT of smoke - so much so that we cannot even see the mountains seen in yesterday's image - but hey i don't mind putting up with that at all in comparison!! haha. Thank guys!

BUSHFIRE UPDATE for 15th of Feb: all still ok at the moment with much backburning going on to help prepare for the northerly winds that are forecast to come at the end of the week. fingers crossed!

Thank you all so much for your lovely encouraging comments. I am getting quite busy and am finding that i don't have a lot of time for both photography and maintaining this blog as much as i would like to so i probably won't be able to reply to each and every comment from now on but i promise i will eventually get around to visiting your blog! Happy snapping everybody!
