bushfire - Thank you...Posted by Kathryn (Warburton, Australia) on 26 February 2009 in Documentary & Street. A wonderful sign made by the local primary school greets the amazing emergency service officers and volunteers as they make their regular trips into and through town on their way up to the fire lines to strengthen the containment lines and continue to blacken-out the burnt areas. Tomorrow the weather is still supposed to be that which creates 'extreme fire danger' (i.e. hot temps in the high 30C's and strong northerly winds with a late change causing upredictable winds) and we are preparing to evacuate again in the morning though the danger for our town has slightly lessoned as a result of quiet fire activity over the past few days and also the strength of the containment lines in place. Still better to be safe than sorry! Also with the combination of the extreme fire danger weather and possible lightning strikes associated with the evening change (not to mention the actions of the arsonists!) there is a strong possibility of new fires starting in the tinder-dry bush around us. So not sure again when i will be able to post again but hopefully it will be soon! Thank you all so much for your lovely encouraging comments. I am getting quite busy and am finding that i don't have a lot of time for both photography and maintaining this blog as much as i would like to so i probably won't be able to reply to each and every comment from now on but i promise i will eventually get around to visiting your blog! Happy snapping everybody! Kaha the Kiwi has set off again on his journey around the world to see all of his AM3 friends. Keep up to date with his adventures on his own blog here. Safe travels Kaha and i hope you have a ton of fun! Thanks for viewing my photograph!
