beauty and wonder...

With the fire threat all but gone with the rain we have had over the last few days it is refreshing to focus on other 'happier' types of images.

Last week i started my new University course in Science in which i am studying a unit of Atmospheric Science so i thought it appropriate to post a pic of my favourite subject matter - CLOUDS!! (any excuse right?!?!)

I can't figure out why the image is so grainy considering the ISO is registering at 80 - does any one have any ideas?

Not a clue about the ISO but I love the picture. Hope that uni is going well and am pleased that the threats of fire are abating

I'm so glad to hear things have calmed down for you so you can start thinking about your classes and photos! This is a wonderful shot...clouds are always interesting, and given what you've had in your sky recently these must be a fantastic sight!

As for the noise, ISO isn't the only cause. In low ISO shots it usually indicates that the shot is underexposed. Try a higher ISO or slower shutter speeds (or both) for this type of shot and see if that makes a difference. :)

Not sure about the ISO but I do know that Am3's posts our images at a rather low resolution. That if is you haven't paid for the A+ membership. I'm a cheapskate so I can live with it. I'm pleased to hear you're back to the positive things in like and look forward to seeing more lovely images like this.

Very cool shot. I too am puzzled about the ISO, although it may just be artifacts from the compression done by AM3.
