Fox Glacier #4

Posted by Kathryn (Warburton, Australia) on 17 April 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

so no actual glacier in shot but i like this shot because it illustrates the amazing power that glacier can unleash on the landscape - not only has the HUGE boulder been deposited by the glacier but the glacier is so powerful that it carves out the valley as can be seen with the successive horizontal bands on the hillside. I love geology!! haha

Thank you all so much for your lovely encouraging comments. I am getting quite busy and am finding that i don't have a lot of time for both photography and maintaining this blog as much as i would like to so i probably won't be able to reply to each and every comment from now on but i promise i will eventually get around to visiting your blog! Happy snapping everybody!
